This culinary gem, hidden in plain sight is the best and probably only,
organic Ethiopian restaurant in Amsterdam, maybe the entire country.
It's not even advertised as such, so taken for granted it is that food should
be pure and natural.
Everything on the menu is so delicious and easy to digest, Gluten-free! and Jimmy, the chef/owner so popular, that reservations are a good idea on the weekends to avoid disappointment.
Phenomenal flavors and provocative yet subtle seasoning.
Food of the Pharaohs, especially beloved by.... musicians...
lots and lots and Lots of musicians love Fenan Klein Afrika..
Try the vegetarian platter with spiced pumpkin and braised Ethiopian-style greens, Especially if you're going out afterwards...
Fenan Klein Afrika is such a Party in your mouth!
Angels dancing on your tongue...
Oh... luscious Joy!
It's only later you notice how ridiculously good this food makes you feel..
Nice Neo-Amsterdam mix of neighborhood regulars, tourists, Ethiopians who live in Germany and Belgium and miss home-cooking, hipsters, foodies like me and of course,....musicians.
So good it's a spiritual experience. The down to earth homey atmosphere, the superlative injera platter combos, and Jimmy! make dining at this restaurant remind me why I love Amsterdam so much. The very sound of Ethiopian music makes my mouth water..
And what Jimmy can do with greens! Awesome!
Wonderfully friendly, and easily one of the best places I've ever eaten.
The best in town ! Gr8 food & friendly staff.
